Domain Aliases¶
An alias is an additional domain under which the same website is reachable.
Typical for spelling variants (your-company.com alongside yourcompany.com),
other endings (.com alongside .de), or a former name that should keep
working.
Alias versus a website of its own¶

If you want to show different content under the second domain, do not create an alias — create a website instead.
Creating an alias¶
- Navigate to Domain Aliases
- Choose Add
- Select the website the alias should point to
- Enter the domain name

How many aliases you may create depends on your package.
DNS record¶
The alias domain has to point at the same server as the main domain.
If the domain is managed here, the panel sets this up.
If it is with another provider, create an A record there pointing at the same IP address as your main domain.
SSL certificate¶
The alias is added to the website's certificate as soon as it points at the server. Until then, visiting through the alias produces a certificate warning — see SSL Certificates.
Removing an alias¶
An alias can be deleted at any time. The website and its files are untouched; only that one name stops leading there.
